After the end of World War II, many families became two-income families. Also, more single parents now have the responsibility of raising their children on their own. This means that in many homes, all adults in one family are likely to be out from home, which means they have little time for food preparation on their own, let alone time for food production. America has become a convenience food society, getting most of the food we consume from non-natural sources of food.
